I bought this vintage box of Prismacolor® pencils at a resale shop a few months ago. I adore the packaging, the colors are so bright and the design is pure fun. When I was studying interior design I paid a dollar for each one of my colored pencils and they had to be Prismacolors. Of course, once I used them, I understood. The colors are so pure and they don’t smudge. Thank God that Michael’s craft store puts half off coupons in the paper almost every week. You can also sign up to get coupons in your e-mail inbox. Those coupons helped me buy a multitude of pencils in a rainbow of colors. This box had nine pencils for only $1. To be honest, I bought it because I love the packaging. I can’t bring myself to sharpen the pencils. One day, a project will require this shade of blue and I’ll use one.
This is an awesome library book that I borrowed. The pictures are amazing. I’m always on the lookout for new tips and hints on how to celebrate life and I found one I’d never seen before in this book, Celebrations by Sharon Amos. She suggested adding beer or fizzy water to pancake batter for extra light and fluffy hotcakes. Well, I used some leftover club soda I had in just a basic Hungry Jack just add water pancake mix and it was sooooo delicious! My son Marty only likes Hungry Jack pancakes, so even though I enjoy making them from scratch I just use the box. It’s quick and easy. I love to experiment though, and even he said he loved them. I’m thinking of trying Jones blueberry soda or green apple soda next. Maybe pineapple…hmm? What do you think?
Until tomorrow...
I just made hungry jack pancakes yesterday! If only you had posted this sooner.. I really want to try it!
