Walking up the street I spotted this orange litter and it made me really angry. I'm a pretty mellow gal who rarely gets upset. One thing that gets my blood boiling, though, is litter. I threw it away, of course. Why are some people so careless? I live by the Native American proverb that we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors but borrow it from our children. Amen to that.
For every litter bug in my neighborhood there is a person who takes care of their corner of the world.I am a huge fan of the TV Show The Big Bang Theory. One episode this season featured my favorite character Sheldon (on the left) played by Jim Parsons pondering emotions assigned colors. For example, green is envy and blue is depression. You can be tickled pink. He then theorizes that orange must be the color for loneliness because no word rhymes with orange. It made me laugh so hard because I've had the same theory for years.
Orange is my son Marty's favorite color and there are a lot of orange things in my home. I'm glad I forced myself to take the walk and take a picture of the Gulf stuff. I saw some litter pickers on a news program who dress up like super heroes and I imagined myself doing that but when I mentioned it to my family they asked me not to do it. They save me from my sillier ideas. Otherwise, I'd totally be in a Wonder Woman costume , strutting my red boots down the street as I picked up tossed Cheetos packages, etcetera and so on.
Until next time...
